Microsoft Developer Show #06 – User Groups R Us!
After a few glitches here and there, the first show is all recorded and where possible the bumps have been removed. I this show I spend some time talking with Athena Pawlowski (dotNET solutions) and Adam Cogan (SSW) about User Groups. Having helped run the Perth .NET Community of Practice for a number of years I understand some of the difficulties of running meetings every month, trying to attract attendees and getting volunteers to present. Hopefully this show will give you an insight into why user groups are one of the best forms of developer resources available!

Very cool – I’m glad this shwo is alive again. Well done :)
Just a constructive thought: Most of the show sounded great, except for adam. Not adam himself, but the quality of his audio. It was so bad it was really hard to listen to when he was tlaking – to the point that if it wasnt’ for the fact that I wanted to listen to the rest of the show, I would have switched off. Crappy quality makes for not a fun experience :(
Other than that, great work!

[...] I stumbled on this podcast from Australia tonight that discusses the state of User Groups there and in New Zealand. It’s a pretty good podcast, but it’s a shame that the audio for Adam Cogan is sketchy at best. Filed Under: User Group [...]

Must apologise for the poor audio quality on this show. Unfortunately Adam’s microphone was playing up and despite trying to clean up the audio as much as possible it is still a bit flakey. I hope it won’t stop people tuning in for the next show where the audio should be a lot better!
